Description: Amazel Basil® ‘UF16-23-2’ is a vigorous upright growing plant with a uniform habit. ‘UF16-23-2’ is the first Italian sweet basil that is resistant to downy mildew. Since it is seed sterile, this large, vigorous plant produces a a higher yield of usable, deliciously aromatic leaves.
For best flavor and leaf production, harvest and or pinch regularly to promote fresh tender growth. If heavy flowering happens late in the season that will likely affect taste, but when it is actively growing new leaves and shoots it will have its best flavor.
